OLPC is a charity project initiated by MIT Media Lab. "It's not a laptop project. It's an education project."
In Dec 20, 2008, I conducted a Jfx workshop to explore Jfx together with other students.
We went through a simple tutorial prepared by another campus ambassador - Silveira Neto along with a Jfx cheatsheet prepared by me ^^" The tutorial is not complex but the concept of programming with Jfx, like Stage, Scene, Timeline, KeyFrame, Event Handler, etc., are all there. And, they can be explained with a simple example. What a goody =]
On the other hand, we briefly went through (which means we don't code on this) another tutorial prepared by the Java Tutorial Team. In this tutorial, it mimicks building 3D object by using ellipse sprites with gradient fillings. Although it's not practical, it's quite interesting ^^
At last, which's the most interactive part. I brought them a OLPC XO Laptop ~~

I'm more than happy to help OLPC Asia Chapter promoting the OLPC project in HK (English OLPC Asia site is here), and of course in the campus of CityU. In the photo, it's a copy of the XO Laptop which shares among volunteers including me. My audiences are very interested in this charity project and of course the laptop =] From their eyes and their words, I know that I'm not making them falling asleep as in lectures. They gave me strong spiritual support that further push me to share as much as I know in this OLPC project =D
